Microextraction technology development (4/4)- analytical method establishment for medical treatment drug in water

Absrtact
This project is the forth years of the microextraction technology evalution for environmental sample. There are two parts in this project. The first is to investigate the application of microextraction methods for medical treatment drugs. The second is to integrate the previous three result and evaluate the applicability of previous result for 10 real samples with different sources by stir bar sorptive extraction. We select Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction (SBSE) and Dispersive Liquid-Liqud Microextraction (DLLME) as the extraction and pretrement methods for the environmental samples. In the first part, twenty medical treatment drugs including fluoxetine、chlorpheniramine、sertraline、methamphetamine、diphenhydramine、amitriptyline、lidocaine、venlafaxine、citalopram、chlorpromazine、verapamil、propoxyphene、promethazine、diazepam、meperidine、methadone、doxylamine、mirtazapine、Dextromethorphan、codeine, were selected as the target compounds. The result showed the recoveries of most of these compounds are larger than 70% at pH9.2 but lower recoveries for methamphetamine and lidocaine by SBSE. Codeine can not be detected by this method. The recoveries ranged from 16.7%~119.0% by vortex DLLME method when toluene used as extraction solvent. The recoveries were poor for methamphetamine、propoxyphene、codeine and diazepam. The recoveries are larger then 85% for other compounds. To evaluate the applicability of previous results. The compounds were divided into two types; pesticide and non-pesticide types. Ten different real samples were tested by dual stir bars SBSE method. For these pesticides, the recoveries of 110 compounds larger then 70%. The result for non-pesticide compounds is poor showed the recoveries were effected by the real sample intereferences.
